WDTV ThumbGen 0.5b released!

Version 0.5b
---------------------------
Link: Obsolete.
Release Notes:

  • Automatic movie detection is much better (improved default keywords)
  • Movie detection can be based either on the folder name or the movie filename
  • Bug fixed when some images could not be loaded (invalid metadata)
  • A bit faster search (when more than one collector is selected)
  • Save/restore user options
  • Added option to skip entire folder during processing
  • Updated main window log with details about the processing status
  • Added possibility to select a thumbnail for a folder that has no movies inside (folder.jpg); quite useful for series root folder

Note: Until I am ready with the autoupdate mechanism please uninstall (Add/Remove Programs) previous version before installing a new one. I hope that soon I am able to host the ClickOnce app somewhere and then it will do autoupdate on startup.

  1. Please add a "pause/resume" button. I have approximately 200 files to update everytime and it takes quite a while to go through then. 2 times it crashed after approximately 45 minutes of updating and I had to start all over again.

Please add a folder scan if possible where you can check which files you want to update rather than doing a whole folder. Many check boxes like in Tvixie.

Lastly, if this is for the wdtvlive, why doesnt it create the file called folder.jpg?

  2. * I planned already to have a folder scan, it makes a lot of sense to choose folders/movies that you want to update (with checkboxes like Tvixie :P)

    * Pause/resume button: I think it does not really make sense, if we have the folder scan. Instead of pause you just do Abort and when you want to resume, the app will remember your last selection and what was done, so it will continue from that point... something like that, I will think about it.

    * As I understood the folder.jpg is needed only for folders that have no movies inside... otherwise the folder thumbnail will be the same as the first movie thumbnail in that folder. Of course, I can add this option that you can generate a custom folder.jpg for any folder. I'll put this also on the list.

    Thx for feedback.

  3. Ill test the last comment out. My directories already had folder.jpgs in them, ill attempt to remove them and see if the wdtv live finds the thumbnail.

  4. I have my movies folders structure like:

    -2009
    --Movie
    ---movie.avi
    ---movie.jpg

And Movie folder gets the movie.jpg thumbnail.
